If you have never been to the bobble-head hall of fame in Milwaukee, you better pencil it onto your bucket list. I enjoyed the “Fauci section”.Milwaukee in the rearview mirror. See ya, Robster!Coming into Chicago.View of Soldier’s Field from the dock.Sledding hill in the park.Nighttime in Chicago. At Wrigley for a Cubs game.Coming through the lock and into the Chicago River in the heart of Chicago. We lowered the mast and boom to prepare for the low bridges through Chicago. We passed the lowest fixed bridge on the Great Loop, which we just squeezed underneath.Narrow canal, barges, and an electric underwater fish fence to keep the Asian Carp out of the Great Lakes.Random pictures from the river. These damn grain silos and barges have me sneezing non-stop.Tied up to a barge at Logdon Tug Service in Beardstown, IL. We had to climb across the barges to get on/off the boat. Also had to move a couple times when a tug showed up to take the barge we were tied to. Definitely a unique stop.We had a short couple days on the Mississippi. Lots of water, barge traffic and great view of the St. Louis Arch. We anchored for the night right at the convergence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers in Cairo IL, where Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky meet.Push!!!Lone black cow on the Ohio RiverCrowded lock at the end of the Cumberland River before getting out on Lake Barkley.Hi and DryWater is rising.Uh Oh.Settled on Lake Barkley at Green Turtle Bay for some B-I-N-G-O. O-69 got a lot of chuckles from the crowd at the Thirsty Turtle Tavern. We also took saw a Dolly impersonator show.More barge traffic on the way to a stop in New Johnsonville, where we will stay for a couple weeks, go to Nashville and Kristin head home.Billy at Pebble Isle Marina makes cinnamon rolls for the boaters each morning. There are old submerged bridges and dams along the waterway, and the map even still shows the old roadways before the area was flooded.Lucy in NashvilleGo Timmy!Cole Ritter and the Night Owls were a pretty good show.
