Nice sunset in Geneva State Park, Geneva, OHWarnings crossing the runway on the airport in a golf cart at Kelleys Island at the Western end of Lake Erie. Duck!Caught in a good thunderstorm out on Lake Erie. Nowhere to hide, but the storm passed quickly, and I didn’t hit anything while visibility was near zero. I had to rely on the chartplotter to get around an island while it was dumping on us. Everything calmed down quickly and we ducked in for the night at JP’s Waterfront in Gibraltar, MI.Heading up the Detroit River into Detroit.Taking in a Lions/Falcons preseason game in Detroit.Never seen this stuff before…
I hate these water pumps… perhaps more than the Vacuflush pump (although the smell is better than the Vacuflush, we have 2 of these damn water pumps). Pumps not working properly again… they pump water, but pressure switches not working and running continuously. Here we go again.
Trip to Maine for Wendy Milot’s wedding. Good to get to see Culla, Annie and June for a surprise visit to our rental house. Lucy the dog loved all the attention!Up and out of the Detroit River and into Lake Huron.Nice sunset in Rogers City.We ran into this guy, Mike Straub, who is getting close to finishing the Great Loop on a jet ski. He started in June, joining the Loop in St. Louis. He’s been down the Mississippi, across the Gulf and around Florida, up the East Coast, out the Erie Canal and through (most at this point) of the Great Lakes. He should be near the finish now. You can find his adventure documented here: https://www.youtube.com/c/MichaelStraubSeaDooLooper/videosMackinac Island was a very cool stop. We stuck around for several days. Nice setting, good restaurants, and a number of sights to see, including the old fort, Fort Mackinac, and Arch Rock. Mackinac Island from Fort Mackinac. The super blue water and sand dunes of Lake Michigan. On the hook in Frankfort, MISomeone had a bad night in Frankfort, MIInto Milwaukee for a couple weeks. Will hang out with Rob for a while and squeeze in a trip home.
