With lots of thunderstorms brewing, we got up early, looking for a window to get up through the top of the Chesapeake into the Chesapeake-Delaware Canal. We pushed off at 7:00 AM, and arrived before noon after a smooth and easy ride. However, can already hear thunder all around us shortly after docking.
A good thunderstorm hit while we were picking through crab shells. The rainwater flowing into the harbor swept the streets of tons of crap and dumped it into the harbor. The city has a bunch of these water-wheel “trash monsters” to sweep up the garbage and deposit it into dumpsters.
Fort McHenry and an intermodal shipping port as we leave Baltimore Harbor and get back out on the water after a month.
After docking, getting tied up, and power connected (often Kristin’s favorite part on account of the dock boys), a waitress came dockside asking if we needed any food or drinks. Think I like this place!
