Very foggy morning out on the Chesapeake-Delaware Canal. About 1/2 way through the canal, the Coast Guard came on the radio announcing that the canal was closed. I radioed back, asking what to do since I was already out and underway. There is no anchoring on the canal. Apparently my question stumped the guy. He finally came back on the radio about 10 minutes late, telling me to Google the Army Corp of Engineers and ask them. By this time we were about 10 minutes to the end of the canal. Rather than drag in a second branch of the U.S. military, I made the call to go for it. Just a few minute later, we were out on the Delaware River with the fog starting to lift.
By the time we got into Cape May, fueled up, pumped out and got tied up to our dock it was beautiful. We got a walk on the beach, and a swim in the Atlantic.
